After being offline for a long, long time, I finally decided to continue this blog! The reason I suddenly stopped blogging, was because of school. At the beginning of September, I officially started college here in the Netherlands. I currently study journalism, and it has been quite a journey so far! A new city, a new school and a lot of new people! So far, I absolutely love journalism and I’m planning on continuing this study and of course this blog. If you are interested (leave a comment if you like), I can update you all about my journalism-adventures, including study tips and inspo!
So far, so good… I wanted this relaunch of my blog to be special, so I’m starting this new thing called the WWW Wednesday! This is a simple blog post, where all of you can participate in! Just answer the three questions below and leave a link to your post in the comments for others to look at. No blog? No problem! Just leave a comment with your responses. Let’s get to it!
The three W’s are:
I am currently reading The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken. This book started off with some mystery and it remained throughout all of the pages which I’ve read yet. This book really makes me want to keep on reading. I can’t simply put it down! The world-building and the plot are incredible! When I read this book, I get the feeling that The Darkest Minds is not just another dystopian YA novel. It creates a terrifying dark atmosphere, which I’ve never seen in such YA novels that romanticizes a dystopian world. Throughout reading I wonder every time when this realistic story is going to happen in real life, it’s so well written that it can look like this all is going to happen tomorrow.
For the second time, I picked up The Perks of being a Wallflower. This book always makes me think about how I deal with other people, and about who I am. Since the fact that I have already picked this book up for the second time, I’m planning to write a review right away! So let me keep it short this time … This book brings me so many feelings, every time. I think I can’t imagine how much I love this book, it is absolutely life-changing. More and more questions arise during reading this book, and now there is only one question left: when is the next time I read this book again?
What I will read next is a difficult question. At the moment I read several books at the same time, which is a bad habit of mine. After The Perks of being a Wallflower and all the other books that I am currently reading, I intend to first read these books one by one. Then I intend to read the A Court of Thorns and Roses series. Right now I am in the middle of A Court of Mist and Fury, and I am really looking forward to reading this series! Despite several attempts to read the series in succession, I intend to read the complete series on my e-reader!
My name is Julia and I am a freshman journalism student at the University of Utrecht. On this blog, you can read about everything in my life, mainly about my reading and studying adventures. Have fun!
The world is indeed full of peril, and in it there are many dark places; but still there is much that is fair, and though in all lands love is now mingled with grief, it grows perhaps the greater.”
